Bob is a lawyer who concentrates his practice in the area of complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on insurance bad faith, intellectual property, business contract disputes, and construction matters.

Representative Cases
  • Heatherwood v. Heatherwood LLC: Suit for breach of warranties of quality in construction of 94-unit project; achieved 8.9 million dollar settlement plus assignment of claims.
  • The Heights v. Steadfast: Suit for breach of contract and bad faith; achieved $950,000 settlement.
  • Pierce County v. Plemmons: Lead counsel representing ACLU of Washington (as amicus curiae) in appeal of civil rights lawsuit stemming from strip search of arrestee at Pierce County Jail; Washington Court of Appeals adopted ACLU's arguments and analysis
  • Pimentel Guitars v. Pimentel: Represented world renowned guitar maker in federal trademark infringement action; obtained preliminary injunctive relief and favorable settlement, including permanent injunctive relief
  • Oregon Glass v. Cardinal: Suit for breach of noncompetition provision in agreement to sell patent rights to insulated glass units; won plaintiff award for damages and injunction, and for fees and costs, following 5-day trial before panel of 3 arbitrators
  • The Heights v. Derus Wakefield: Suit for breach of warranties of quality in construction of 72-unit condominium; achieved 8.3 million dollar settlement plus assignment of claims.

Background
Bob previously practiced law with a prominent Seattle law firm. Prior to moving to Seattle, he spent two years clerking for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Bob also served as an aide to United States Senator Pete V. Domenici of New Mexico. During his free time, Bob enjoys hiking and camping in the great Northwest.
